Rob Bellusci - I Wish | Review
Rob Bellusci, Italian Pop Punk artist and former member of Unknown Destination has found his own journey in his brand new project as a solo artist in the pop punk scene. Something that isn't really noticed as much, we tend to focus on the five man bands jumping around the stage.
I Wish, is the latest single released by Rob mixing what seems as an Alternative Ballad and punk rock perfect blend.
The song begins with a soft guitar in the background, with echoed vocals over it. At first you think you're going into a slow December by Neck Deep territory, before boom you're in straight away with a faster paced guitar, drums and bass. The vocals merge from soft and gentle before a but of roughness is thrown in, this is the after work, in the talking don't know where its going stage song that you need, when you know you need something in your life, you know what it is but its at a distance and all you want to do is prove everyone wrong to grab it.
"She falls in the middle, and we grow little over little"
"I wish that something could go around me, i wish that something was you" if you're saying you've never felt those lyrics before then you're lying and you know it.
The middle to the end of the song picks up from the chorus, my chest goes tighter and lifts up as the song continues onwards, I'm in a steady relationship and I'm feeling like I'm back in that shitty situation again. The memories but also the gigantic F**k you energy radiates of this song massively!
If you like the sound of I Wish, you need to check out his YouTube Channel, because it just gets better with the music videos.
The video for Motivate You, starts with a neon light shot as the lead guitar kicks in, and you truly see this one man band can do it all! Rob kicks off the video in a blackout smoky room with bright neon lights to compliment it, showing of his bright blue hair, wearing a yellow shirt in one and then changing to a white vest when suddenly we're on a train and walking along a gorgeous scenery, in heavenly summer weather. Drone shots, close ups, eye level shots putting you all in the same boat.
But one thing you can't forget, is the man himself getting a tattoo to officially staple the song and video.
This guy right here is making some Pop Punk Summer anthems!
